Our Top 5 Earth Friendly Spring Activities for Kids
•Posted on March 19 2024
I love Spring! The sun is out, the air is crisp, and our Canyon is alive with the songs of nature. I've been working hard all winter and I am ready to enjoy this new season with you! We've put together a small list of fun and eco friendly activities to enjoy with your kids this Spring!
Here are our Top 5 Earth Friendly Spring Activities for Kids:
- Take a Nature Walk. There's no better way to restore and replenish our minds and bodies than to connect with Nature! Make it fun for you and the kids by bringing binoculars or your camera, observing the creatures big and small together, and listening to the sounds all around you.
- Pack a Picnic. How fun it is to let the kids help pack their own picnic foods! Let them choose from colorful fruits and veggies, sweet treats, and favorite drinks. I'm always surprised at how creative the little ones get when they get to choose their own Picnic Menu!
- Go to the Library. Spend a fun afternoon exploring your local library and get them their own library cards! Libraries are a wonderful way to teach our kids about reusing/recycling, and the value of "used" treasures. Why buy a new book when you can have a entire library for life!
- Sort the Recycling. This is something we love to do at home, our little 4 year old really gets into it! Giving our kids an important task at home builds confidence and makes them feel like our partners in life. We always feel good after completing this empowering task, I can't deny I love the big kisses and hugs we get afterwards!
- Plant a Native Flower. It's so important for our eco-system to fill our neighborhoods with ( neonicotinoid-free) native plants and flowers. Buy native plants at your local nursery and plant a flower in a homemade pot with your little ones! They'll enjoy the special time with you and feel so good knowing they're helping our critters and pollinators thrive!
Follow along with us as we share our activities in our Instagram Stories this Spring! Wishing you a day filled with sunshine and laughter!
